FAQ

What is a Seatbelt Silencer?

Seatbelt alarm silencers are devices that mimic a seatbelt tongue and plug into a vehicles seatbelt receiver to stop the seatbelt alarm chime from going off. Get yours here!

Are Seatbelt Silencers Illegal?

No, seatbelt silencers are not illegal to buy, sell or use in any US state. They are marketed as off road use or for when a heavy object, not a passenger is in the seat. As long as this advice is followed they are not illegal to have in your vehicle. For the most current Federal seatbelt laws, visit the NHTSA website

Are Seatbelt Silencers Vehicle Specific?

No. Whether you drive a Ford F150, Chevy Silverado, Honda Civic or any other vehicle made in the last 30 years for the US auto market, the seatbelt tongue design is roughly the same. That is why all our products are advertised as a "universal fit". Now, if you own a vehicle that is not sold on the US market, they might not fit. Also some super cars like Ferrari and Lamborghini have a different style seatbelt tongue that may differ from the rest of the US market

Can I Make a DIY Seatbelt Silencer?

Anything is possible, but we recommend not. Unless you have access to a CNC milling machine, plasma cutter, 3D printer, or are using the seatbelt tongue from a vehicle designated for the salvage yard. Why?- well if you make one with scissors and cardboard and it breaks off in your seatbelt receiver, now you are making a trip to the mechanic, or are stuck spending hours in the car trying to fish the broken piece out! And with the relatively low cost we offer, under $7 shipped, it's not worth the risk!

How Much does Shipping Cost?

$2.99 for orders under $13. Any order over $13 ships for free!
